The Titans Community Grows: From Champions Place to Costa Rica
The Titan COMMUNITY believes that true impact often begins with small, meaningful gestures - and sometimes, those gestures travel thousands of miles.
In February, CCF Executive Director Rick Thompson joined friends Mike Gailey, Ed Pease and Andy Gibson (all intimately involved with World Mission Partners as well as CCF) on a mission trip to renovate a home for a family in one of the poorest neighborhoods in San Jose, Costa Rica. During their time there, they met Snyder, a young man with physical challenges, and his family of five, all living together in a single-room home.
One of the biggest challenges Snyder’s family faces is navigating life in an inaccessible home and neighborhood. Snyder not only has to rely on his family to carry him from place to place, but his mother, Nareida, had also been holding him in her arms to bathe him in a small sink - a daily task that was not only physically demanding but also unsafe. Moved by their story, the CCF Community stepped in to help by donating a shower bed specifically designed to fit into Snyder's new roll-in shower provided by World Mission Partners, bringing both safety and dignity to Snyder’s daily care. Meanwhile, thanks to the incredible work of World Mission Partners, Snyder’s home has been transformed with the addition of a second and third story, and a fully accessible ground floor tailored to his needs.

As a result, Snyder is now better taken care of - a very difficult situation has been made just a little bit better, and he has a more accessible place to live. What was once a cramped, single-room home is now a safe and accessible space that offers renewed hope for Snyder and his family.
“This is what love in action looks like. From the Titans and Champions Place community in the U.S. to Snyder’s home in Costa Rica, we are reminded that small gestures - when guided by heart - can change lives.”
