Champions Community Foundation's 5th Annual BBQ Fundraiser in October 2025

As we reflect on 2025, we’re celebrating YOU – the heart behind every milestone we’ve achieved.

Your generosity empowered young adults with physical disabilities to gain independence, build friendships, and live more fully in their communities. Thank you for helping us continue this life-changing work and for being part of the bright future we’re building together.

Champions Place

Champions Place is an independent living community designed specifically for young adults with physical disabilities. The residents are thriving while living with friends and being active in their local community.

Champions Place@Home

Leveraging what we have learned at Champions Place, we have enabled over 48 physically challenged young adults to become more independent living in their existing homes. The impact is significant and we plan to install Champions Place@Home in 24 additional homes over the next 12 months.

Champions Community Connect

Instead of feeling isolated, physically challenged young adults gather online five nights a week cultivating friendships while enjoying games, live music, bible study and special events their favorite is our Around the World series, where they get to experience places they’ve never been!

Titans Wheelchair Sports

Bi-monthly scrimmages offer our Titan community a chance to get active, engage both mind and body, and build confidence in their abilities.

After greeting friends and sharing a devotion together, we crank tunes and enjoy a game of wheelchair sports where everyone is included it’s the closest you’ll get to Heaven on earth!”

“The Champions Place@Home program allows me to control my fans and lights around the house just by speaking through an app. Having both upper and lower extremity loss, this is truly amazing support. You have no idea how much this technology is going to change things for me. Now I can use my voice to activate all these different tools and I’m loving it.”

Support Broker

Working with the Georgia Medicaid team, Champions Community Foundation has sponsored a team to develop a new Medicaid service to answer the question, “What will happen to me when my parents are no longer capable or alive — who will take on the challenging responsibility of managing the Medicaid services and other programs that provide me the daily support I need?” We are now in the final stages of developing this new service called Support Broker that has the potential to impact over 3,300+ Georgia families who self-direct their Medicaid services

And this is why we do it! Thank you supporters!

“Having all of this technology, and having the freedom to move around wherever I want to go, without having to worry about opening doors   it has changed my life forever.”

Matthew Dooley – Champions Place Resident

“Volunteering with Champions Place through Atlanta Gas Light has been incredibly rewarding. Our team planted a butterfly garden in the backyard and volunteered at a wheelchair scrimmage, bringing joy to these special young adults and to us, so much so that my husband joined as a volunteer. Seeing the positive impact on the residents is truly inspiring, and I’m grateful to contribute to such a wonderful organization.”

Jodie Hart — Volunteer

“The ability to spend time with my Titan friends and Coaches, while listening to music and racing up and down the court. My favorite part is when Coach Rick yells ‘C’mon Will!”

Will Hillis — Titan Sports Participant
